My Journey from Grind to Wellbeing
After an MBA from Oxford University, I found my first 11 years in banking highly stressful. This drained me of my positivity and energy and I spent a lot of time searching for ways to rediscover my confidence and verve.
My first yoga class was the beginning of an exploration into the world of wellbeing with increasingly regular yoga, meditation and life coaching sessions.
The result has been dramatic for me, making me more open to trying new and different things.
During my last four years in banking, my colleagues were asking me if I was taking happy pills!
Trekking across the Sahara in November 2014, to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society, I decided to change the course of my life. The trek made me realise that I needed so little to be so happy, and helping my co-travellers through this physically and emotionally demanding journey made me feel happy and content.
On my return, I chose to take a secondment to work for a Charity. The realization that I was privileged to have a healthy body and mind, made me appreciate that I am in a position to make a positive difference to other people’s lives. This was reinforced at a Buddhist monastery where I was worked, meditated and learned from monks.
I created Wellbeing Capital Partners with a vision to help others who may be on a similar journey as me.
Additionally, WBCP will run a scholarship program to fund financially underprivileged children to study at universities, with the first scholarship launching at Oxford in 2017.
Andy Hix, Meditation and Mindfulness Coach
Ex Filmmaker, Meditation and Mindfulness coach
I am a qualified trainer who has taught mindfulness at organisations such as PwC, Credit Suisse, The Department of Energy & Climate Change, Bain & Company, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Teach First and The National Union of Students.
I became passionate about mindfulness when I saw that practising it made me feel happier, calmer, more focused and that it improved my ability to relate to people. My mission is to share those benefits as widely as possible.
I love travelling and am fluent in Spanish, Italian and French.
Mia Forbes Pirie, Intelligent Global Change Expert, Mediator and Mindfulness Coach
Mediator, Facilitator and Mindfulness Coach
I’m a qualified mediator, coach and mindfulness trainer whose clients have ranged from the US and Mongolian governments to the Church of England. I’m also a Huffington Post (http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/author/mia-forbes-pirie) blogger profiled by We are the City as an Inspirational Woman (http://www.wearethecity.com/inspirational-woman-mia-forbes/).
Described as a “quiet storm”, I used to work in a big City law firm and even back then I practiced yoga every morning and coached people and groups in my very limited spare time. My talent lies in helping people to have better conversations and increased calm and clarity in their lives.
More recently, I have immersed myself in facilitating international conversations with MPs, think tanks and NGOs on the refugee crisis. My approach, whether working with individuals or countries, stems from a background steeped in the mindfulness and yoga training I have honed over a period of twenty years prior and whilst working in conflict resolution.
Whether assisting company CEOs in developing new strategy and changing their organisational culture, or creating a neutral platform for dialogue around some of today’s most testing global challenges, creating intelligent change which is sustainable, lies at the heart of all my work.

Celia Perry, Massage Therapist
My massage combines remedial, soft tissue techniques to release and restoring muscle tone. I also blend in holistic Swedish massage to promote a feeling of wellbeing and ease of movement in the body. Therefore each massage session will be tailored to the individual based on their occupation, sport and lifestyle. Massage in this way is a tool for understanding your own body, maintaining optimal alignment and thus improving recovery from our busy lives.
I began my first professional massage training in 2011. My interest in wellbeing came out of having myself recovered from a serious sporting injury. I am driven to provide the best possible care and treatment for my clients. I know first hand the importance of treatment & maintaining a healthy body and mind through a balanced lifestyle.
I began training as a Yoga teacher in 2013 and Yoga has become an important aspect of this lifestyle. Integrating regular bodywork, movement & mindfulness practices are the ideal partnership in healthy living.
